About Matukana
Matukana is a creative meeting space, where you have the freedom to develop your ideas, create unique and experimental pieces.
In a cozy atmosphere, through ceramics and painting you can express your ideas, feelings and emotions.
Working with clay is a form of meditation, of being in the present and releasing inner creativity.
The Studio
Located in the heart of Minho, surrounded by art and history, this space has plenty of natural light and a welcoming atmosphere.
About Me
My name is Mara Giliberti, painter and ceramist.
Over the last few years, I’ve lived in a variety of countries, allowing me to enjoy and immerse myself in each one’s culture.
The desire to share my passion for art inspired me to create Matukana, with the idea of bringing together people who want to get their hands dirty and have a good time.
About My Work
My artworks are inspired by nature, each piece is unique.
The study and observation of botanic, its colors and shapes are my great source of inspiration.
The ceramic pieces are handmade and hand painted, you can find the application of sgraffito in many of them.
All works are made using with high quality materials, without toxins and taking care of the environment.
My paintings show jungle landscapes, where the force and magic of nature are mixed. I make use of different techniques and materials, according to the result I wish to obtain.
